Roasted Cauliflower Recipe and Top 6 Health Benefits Of Cauliflower

Roasted White Organic CauliflowerHere is a delicious vegetarian recipe that I cooked on my smoker.  I am adapting it so you can cook this on your grill if you don’t own a smoker.  Cauliflower in general is a very boring vegetable, but very healthy for you.

1. Fights Cancer

Cauliflower contains a sulfer compound called sulforaphane.  This compound has been shown to kill cancer stem cells and slow tumor growth.  Many in the research community believe killing these cancer specific stem cells may be the key to controlling cancer.

Researchers have looked into the sulfer compound sulforaphane for heart health and found that it significantly improves blood pressure and improving the lining of your arteries knows as the endothelium.

I found this recipe on and adapted it to be used on a grill instead of a smoker.  I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.


  • 1 head cauliflower
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves crushed garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper


When ready to cook, start your grill and try and keep the temperature around 180 degrees F.

Cut the cauliflower into medium sized flowerets, place right on the grill grate and cook for 1 hour. If you have more than 1 burner only light 1 burner and keep the other burner turned off.  You will place the Caulfilower on the burner that isn’t turned on to cook via indirect heat.  While the cauliflower is smoking, mix all of the ingredients together except for the Parmesan cheese. After 1 hour remove the cauliflower.

Turn the grill up to 450 Degrees using both burners (or all burners). While the grill is coming up to temperature, brush the cauliflower with the ingredient mixture, and place it on a sheet tray. Then put it back on your grill and roast it for 10 minutes or until it has a nice golden brown color. Finally sprinkle the Parmesan over each piece, close the lid until the cheese is melted. Serve and enjoy!
