Alternative Weight Loss Recipe

Tuna Patty With AvocadoIt was a beautiful day yesterday and not normal in February for us so I turned on the Traeger smoker and did a little outdoor cooking to take advantage of the warm weather.  

I made something new and it turned out delicious.  Now you don’t have to have a smoker to make this recipe so give it a try as an alternative to your normal meals. 


Tuna Burger

This tuna burger is quick and easy to make and is a nice change from the norm not to mention packed full of healthy protein.  


  • 1 3/4 lbs. ground tuna steak
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp. Salmon Shake Seasoning
  • 1 tsp. Blackened Saskatchewan Seasoning
  • 1 diced white onion
  • 1 diced green bell pepper
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce or 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce or both

One added option:  Slice some avocado and place on top of the burger.  Now you are adding a healthy fat and this burger explodes with flavor. 


Mix all ingredients together and form into thin patties.  Place them on your grill on high for 10-15 minutes and voila!  You now have a delicious healthy tuna burger that tastes delicious.
