Super Simple Recipe When You Are Cutting Out Sugar

We generally make this recipe in the summer time, but it can really be enjoyed any time of the year.  You will also see below you can eat it two different ways.  I lean towards having this recipe warm instead of cold, but on a hot day it tastes great cold.  

When you are trying to cut out sugar and I mean unnecessary processed sugar you need to fill that with something healthier.  A balance of lean protein, vegetable proteins and healthier carbs is how you do it.  Your body does need sugar.  It just doesn’t need the amounts that we tend to consume so cutting out sugar should be one thing you focus on.  

This is a great meal when you are on the go and need something nutritious and filling so you aren’t hungry in 20 minutes.  This recipe also allows you to explore your food interests and experiment with adding other vegetables or proteins to the recipe.

Grilled Chicken and Bean Salad

1 can (16oz) whole green beans, drained and rinsed3_bean_salad_200
1 can (15oz) garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 grilled chicken breast, chopped
1 can (12oz) whole-kernel corn, drained
1 medium red onion, chopped
1 cup light French dressing or Italian dressing


Cook and chop the chicken and then mix the beans, corn, onion, and chicken together.  Pour in the 1 cup of  the Dressing of your choice and you are finished. You now have an excellent meal that is portable and can be eaten cold or hot. It tastes great both ways.
